5th Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation Promotes Development of Digital Media, Strengthens Strategic Partnership

BEIJING, August 30, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The 5th China-Africa Media Cooperation Forum (the “Forum”), co-hosted by the National Radio and Television Administration of ChinaBeijing Municipal People’s Government and the African Broadcasting Union, successfully concluded the August 26 in Beijing, China.

The theme of the forum “New vision, new development and new cooperation“, published the cooperative achievements of ChinaAfrica cooperation with the media in the following areas four categories:

  • Co-broadcasting of programs: nearly 30 excellent audiovisual productions from 20 African countries will be broadcast by provincial/municipal television channels as well as Internet platforms including Youku and MangoTV.
  • Documentary creation: China produced a series of documentaries focusing on Chinese and African cultures and cooperation, including “Lionheartand “Chinese Meet Africa,” which will air soon.
  • Program innovation: China has developed special programs and forums for Chinese and African youth which have been launched to explore new opportunities and challenges in cultural and educational exchanges.   • New Media Cooperation: a series of video projects have been developed in collaboration with African countries to promote industrial exchanges and trade in products.

Founded in 2012, the Forum has been a key platform for Chinese and African media to facilitate wide and deep cooperation in broadcasting, including key projects such as showing seasons of excellent Chinese TV series. in Africa, co-production and co-broadcasting of TV content, installation of satellite TV for 10,000 African villages and more. More than 3,000 professional broadcast talents have received training from Chinese media.

Focusing on the application of advanced audio-visual technologies and the integration of digital development, the interactive exhibition of the Audio-visual Technology Forum showcased a number of Chinese content and technology companies to showcase the latest products and technologies in IPTV, VR, AR, cloud gaming, immersive audiovisual, smart terminals, ultra HD and more.
