Andhra Pradesh government emphasizes digital learning

Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, 23rd July 2022: In a bid to go digital in public schools, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday inspected various equipment of companies regarding digital learning which would be implemented in schools. It is about improving the quality of education by integrating the latest technologies into the education system. After inspecting the equipment, the CM instructed the officials that appropriate measures should be taken to protect the equipment that would be installed in the schools. The CM discussed with those responsible for the installation of CCTV cameras in the school premises.

To make teaching more interactive and innovative, the Prime Minister asked for the installation of projectors and interactive screens in each class. He asked officials to speed up the process of digital learning in schools. “Smart teaching facilities will benefit both children and teachers,” the CM said. Smart TVs will be installed from 1st to 2nd class and projectors will be installed from 3rd class. Additionally, the CM also reviewed the tabs that would be provided to students entering Class 8 in September. While inspecting the tabs, he indicated that the tabs must be of good quality and modules from BYJU will be installed in the devices.

Bearing in mind the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations, the CM ordered officials to keep a comprehensive record of data related to programs undertaken in the education system and to update it continuously. The CM has also requested managers to prepare SOPs and the same should be followed in all districts. As this academic year starts on a high note, the CM said the education system should be improved drastically next year.

“Many reforms have been introduced in the education sector and supervision must be equally strong at all levels. Immediately fill positions with supervisory responsibilities at various levels, including DEO and MEO in the Department of Education. Fill the positions of SCERT, lecturers and senior lecturers,” the CM said.
