BOOKS, ETC. : Library Offers Digital Media Support Course – Park Rapids Enterprise

Every day at the Park Rapids Area Library, customers need help with some of our online library resources. With changes to our traffic system and now the possibility of in-person programs, it’s time to offer an event specific to this need!

A Digital Media Support course will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27 in the library’s large meeting room. This course will focus on using Kitchigami’s online catalog and two library subscription services, Hoopla and Cloud Library.

With the Kitchigami online catalog, attendees will learn how to put a book on hold, how to renew a book, how to check their account for circulation information, and more. Cloud Library is a service that Kitchigami provides to all of its customers and includes eBooks and audiobooks that can be read directly from a computer, tablet or phone. Hoopla is also a library subscription service that includes eBooks, audiobooks, movies, TV series, music, magazines, and more. Demonstrations of these tools will be presented with time to experience all they have to offer. All of these digital media tools are available for free at home with a simple Kitchigami library card.

The course will be at a basic level with each of these digital media tools and will feature plenty of visuals and demonstrations to help participants feel confident in using them. Clients are encouraged to be their own device with them for one-on-one support.

The class is limited to 20, so prior registration is required. With that, those interested should call 218-732-4966 or stop by the library to get their name put on the list. If there is enough interest, a follow-up course or a one-to-one course can be arranged.

Digital media is another way the Park Rapids Area Library provides resources and information to our community. Join us for this support course to help each of you access these exciting tools. Interested community members can also get a library card anytime and be ready to join us for this event.
