Collection Museum secures arts funding to support digital learning

The Collection Museum has secured £ 35,000 from the Respond and Reimagine Art Fund grant to help develop more online learning resources.

Art Fund funding is in place to help museums, galleries and cultural organizations respond to the immediate challenges of the Covid-19 crisis, and provides support to adapt and reinvent ways of working for the future. .

Anita Fox, Head of Apprenticeship at Lincolnshire County Council, says: “This is great news. We have so many plans for the future.

“This will allow us to design innovative new digital assets, which we know will showcase our heritage site collections and exhibits, including the Collection, Lincoln Castle and the Lincolnshire Museum of Life, in a way that our audience will truly love.

“We will be able to create an interactive virtual reality world where we can really bring our gallery to life and create 3D scans of Roman and Viking artifacts, making it even more exciting and interesting.

“It will include hidden stories, unusual discoveries and behind-the-scenes glimpses of these hard-to-reach areas!”

“We are also planning digital learning toolkits that will explore the art and history of our sites – from prehistoric times to the 20th century with movies, podcasts, image galleries and live sessions.

“These have been very popular during the lockdown so far, so it’s great to know that we can now create more for the future. “
