Colors Live digital art software gets physical version on Switch

Update: The physical edition of Colors Live, the sequel to the famous 3DS Colors digital art success! 3D, is now available at select retailers. You can get your hands on it at stores like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart for $ 49.99.

Original article (Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 9:00 p.m. BST): If you didn’t get a copy of Colors Live when it appeared on Kickstarter last summer, don’t worry – a physical retail version is coming later this year.

Last year’s Kickstarter saw the return of popular 3DS digital art software to Switch, but this time it came with new features and a cool SonarPen that plugs into the Switch’s headphone jack and uses audio to draw on the touchscreen. It’s a smart trick, and at a considerably lower price point than most pro digital art packages, it’s definitely tempting for artists who own Switch.

Previously it was only available as a digital download code (the pen was shipped to you separately, of course), but this new physical version also gives you a nice box to add to your shelf. It will be available at retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart for $ 49.99.

· SonarPen colors – A pressure sensitive pen offering a natural painting feel with fully customizable line thickness and / or opacity.
· Quest for Colors – A brand new game mode where players take on daily challenges by painting on a theme set with various rules. Designed for beginners and masters alike, users will be able to see how their painting skills improve upon completing these challenges.
· The color gallery – Nintendo Switch players can upload their creations to Colors Gallery, a community sharing center that has received over four million paintings and account downloads. Follow friends and talented artists and share Live Colors creations with the world.

You can always grab the digital version right now if you don’t mind missing the physical case; the commercial version is expected to launch in September.
