CPNI Releases Series of Digital Insider Threat Learning Modules

As security experts warn of an increase in potential insider threat scenarios as the cost of living rises, the UK Center for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) has released a series of learning modules for organizations.

As CPNI explains, the pods were launched as business operating models continually evolve to enable efficiencies, new hybrid work arrangements, and higher cost of living than wage increases. Such challenges can lead to a change in behavior and actions on the part of individuals in the workplace, which can lead to the occurrence of an internal incident if left unchecked.

Developing a strong system of safeguards will help alleviate this problem, but organizations may not know where to start, where to invest, and what to include in a program.

CPNI says that’s where his a new series of nine digital learning modules can help – all of which are backed by CPNI’s ongoing and extensive research into insider risk.

The modules are free and are designed to provide users with a solid foundation in the field, acting as a stepping stone to CPNI guidance to help manage insider risk effectively.

Each module lasts between 10 and 20 minutes and can be viewed at your own pace. Each includes a video, as well as additional resources such as guidance documents and templates.

The modules cover:

  • Introduction to CPNI Insider Research
  • Direction and governance
  • Leadership role in maintaining organizational trust
  • Role-Based Risk Assessment
  • Employee Screening
  • Permanent staff security
  • Investigations
  • Employee Monitoring
  • Online Staff Safety
