This is a great opportunity for the right person to make a meaningful contribution to support our digital transformation plans. As a member of the Digital Academic Practice (DAP) team within the Education Development Service (EDS), you will work with academic staff to develop our course offering in digital formats through the use of established tools, electronic content frameworks and learning objects.
As a developer of digital learning content, a critical aspect of this role will be to work closely with academics from across the university as well as fellow instructional designers within DAP. You will use multimedia production tools and techniques to create very engaging learning objects which you will then use to plan, design and support the delivery of online content.
Your work will be based on creating engaging online content and some knowledge of pedagogies to support higher education learning would be beneficial. Collaboration is key, and you’ll work closely with other digital learning content creators to define, write, and edit content so it’s relevant, understandable, and accessible.
A postgraduate degree and / or degree in a relevant field, with experience creating engaging online content for use in an academic setting is essential. Awareness of pedagogies to support higher education learning is beneficial for this role. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with good technical knowledge of a range of computer software and e-learning tools and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A good sense of detail and the ability to write engaging course material are important.
