Muskaan Dreams: Acuity partners with Muskaan Dreams to enable digital learning in public schools

NEW DELHI: Acuity Knowledge Partners (Acuity), a provider of high-value research, analytics and business intelligence services to the financial services industry, and Muskaan Dreams have implemented Digital Shala, a joint initiative aimed at providing digital learning opportunities to children in government schools in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.

This initiative will provide teachers with the training, tools and support needed to effectively use technology to teach students across the district. The program aims to improve students’ learning experience by strengthening teachers’ digital skills so they can provide every child with the opportunity to prepare for a rapidly changing digital future.

“Social empowerment and inclusive development are core elements of Acuity’s CSR philosophy. Through Digital Shala, we aim to help bridge the digital divide in public schools with a simple solution for teachers. An interactive WhatsApp-based chatbot will connect with teachers and provide needs-based digital skills and training modules on the effective use of technology. We also plan to provide smart TVs, graded content, and on-call/field support for teachers,” Avadhesh Dixit, Acuity’s Director of Human Resources and Head of CSR Initiatives, said in a statement.

The program will start in Barabanki district as a pilot project and will be expanded to cover a number of districts in Uttar Pradesh in the coming years with the aim of mainstreaming ICT in the education system as per policy national education 2021.

The long-term goal of this initiative is to equip teachers across India with digital skills, enabling them to develop the digital skills of the children they teach.

In a statement, Abhishek Dubey, founder of Muskaan Dreams, said, “In the midst of the pandemic, we all realized that online education alone would not work. We need a mixed approach to achieve meaningful and lasting impact. Keeping this in mind, we have designed this program where teachers will be provided with all the necessary resources in the classroom; we will also train them simultaneously through field visits every week. We will ensure that our teachers are sufficiently equipped to continue teaching, whatever the situation.

“The Digital Shala project is our effort to ensure that public school students continue their education despite the many challenges associated with the pandemic. We hope that as a result of our construction of a digital learning infrastructure and the implementation of teacher training programs, these students will enjoy coming to school and seeking knowledge,” added Dixit. , in the press release.

The Digital Shala training modules include sessions on Zoom, YouTube, MS Office, Google and the Internet, as well as other useful, short and specially selected video clips. Teachers will receive certificates at the end of a module. Those who are most successful will be assigned a digital learning lab for their students and will be certified as a Saathi Digital Teacher.
