A panacea in times of crisis

A well-thought-out digital learning strategy can benefit everyone, and digital learning is just as effective.

Technology has become an integral part of our lives and a distinct feature of the modern world. Nowadays, people are completely dependent on technology and the Internet to carry out their daily activities, which has further led to the entry of digitization in all fields and sectors of the economy.

The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the crucial role of technology in our daily lives, especially for teaching and learning.

Traditionally, digital learning has been viewed as an alternative route that was primarily well suited to adult learners seeking higher education opportunities.

Nevertheless, the crisis has forced educational institutions and learners at all levels to adapt quickly to virtual classrooms.

In addition to this, the continuous evolution of touchscreen technology has enabled almost all students to engage in technology-assisted instruction.

Digital learning promises to bring education to anyone with an internet connection.

The increasing speed and availability of Internet access is reducing various geographic constraints that disadvantage disadvantaged students.

Before handy portable devices, it was difficult for preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary school students to work with educational software because it required the use of a mouse or keyboard.

Now there are many apps which can effectively and effectively teach kids.

Digital learning can improve students’ academic performance by promoting vital and future-ready skills such as communication, collaboration and technology.

It creates smarter, more efficient societies at the cutting edge of new technologies.

Online training also provides access to a specialized course that otherwise might not be readily available in specific geographies.

Likewise, the learning environment can be easily controlled in online environments, which ultimately helps students to deepen their understanding of the courses.

It also offers students the opportunity to complete a course or degree that they may have started before but were unable to continue.

Many platforms around the world have started to introduce some kind of digital learning for students of all age groups.

In Bangladesh, Likee recently launched a campaign called “#KnowledgeMonth” in partnership with 10 Minute School.

The campaign encourages users to create and share videos focused on various academic and extracurricular skills, which will enlighten people while keeping them entertained.

During the campaign, Likee users uploaded videos on different categories such as learning English, soccer, art and cooking, with a focus on two specific sections: # howto and #education.

Inspired by the huge response, Likee is set to run similar campaigns to provide video creators with a platform where they can display their personal talents while expanding their career options.

Several platforms, including Likee, have started to make maximum use of digital platforms to disseminate knowledge through digital learning.

While the blurring of the boundaries between traditional education and distance learning has been observed for several decades, the pandemic has rapidly advanced the erasure of these boundaries.

The future of digital learning is opening up education to more of the population than ever before.
