The Matha Foundation initiated this project specifically to target young people and provide them with vocational training. The Minister of Education, Mr. Susil Premajayantha as well as LOLC Holdings are key pillars of success for the continuation of this program. Our goal is to produce a stronger generation of children with life skills.”

Sharing his thoughts at the launch event, Honorable Minister of Education, Mr. Susil Premajayantha said, “We are currently implementing education reforms by discovering and guiding students in their fields talented. Practical and vocational training will soon be integrated into school curricula. Through this remarkable initiative of the Matha Foundation, we hope to provide skills as well as food to the children. LOLC has come forward to serve lunch to these students is very commendable”.

Also commenting on the latest efforts of LOLC, Mr. Kapila Jayawardena, Group Managing Director of LOLC Holdings, said, “It is agreed that children in certain segments of this country are malnourished due to the difficulties faced by their families. Their school attendance is also strongly affected by these food problems. Understanding the basic responsibilities of a leading company to the nation, LOLC often forges ties with various pressure groups to support these types of community projects. Recently, under LOLC Divi Savya, we have covered the whole island of the most vulnerable groups, distributing ration packages to people over 100 days old. Likewise, we intend to further develop our humanitarian initiatives in the future”.
