RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – October 10, 2021): A training workshop on the importance and utility of social media in the dominant age of digital media was held here at the Rawalpindi Arts Council under the auspices of the ‘Association of Young Journalists (YJA) in collaboration with the Public Relations Department of the Government of Punjab.
Training on print, electronics, social media, usefulness and journalistic ethics, responsibilities were passed on to participants.
The function was chaired by President YJA Muhammad Yusuf Khan, while the main guest on the occasion was Central Chief Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Rana Sohail. Renowned social media activist, Siddique Jan gave an in-depth presentation on the effective use of social media and developing trends in digital media.
Senior Vice-President, National Press Club, Dr Sadia Kamal briefed participants on ethics and journalistic responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution and media laws.
She said ethical standards apply not only to people’s lives but also to their professional activities. “Journalism is such a profession. It has its own ethical principles. It is based on the concept of professional activities as well as on the best ways of fulfilling professional duties in accordance with the ethical ideology of society,” he said. -she adds.
Addressing the workshop, speakers said that the role of print and electronic media as well as social media is very important in today’s advanced age.
There is no denying the importance of the media, their reliability and their necessity, which have been recognized in every age because the media are the only thing whose development has bridged the gaps.
Siddique Jan said that nowadays social media is used as a weapon of war called fifth generation warfare. The training of journalists is very important for its positive use. Such training workshops will also be organized in the future to build the capacity of journalists, he added.

At the end of the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were presented to the participants.
